Guitar New Mexico’s Artist-in-Residence Program brings world renowned guitarist to local schools to perform.

Guitar New Mexico’s 2020 Artist in Residence will be Grisha Goryachev, a  native of St. Petersburg, Russia,  and is renowned for his extraordinary technical virtuosity in both classical and flamenco styles. A native of St. Petersburg, Goryachev began to play the guitar at the age of six, taught by his father Dmitry, a master teacher and player of the classical guitar and learned quickly. He was a child prodigy, performing regularly in the top concert halls of St. Petersburg, Moscow, Minsk, Riga and other cities in the Soviet Union from the age of nine, receiving wide coverage in Soviet magazines and newspapers. Grisha will perform for students in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Moriarty and Los Lunas during the week of February 10-15, 2020. Every year Guitar New Mexico brings outstanding guitarists and educators to work with area guitar students.
